Christmas Tree Love

Hi all! Sorry I was kind of M.I.A. last week! We spent two days jumping through hoops for the buyers of our house in Louisiana...got it done and we are now down to one mortgage...yay! I will update you more about our Dave Ramsey "Total Money Makeover" at a later date...it's rolling again!

I think I mentioned that I couldn't find the "perfect" tree for this house so I got a freebie one from my mom and dad. It has now been decorated...twice. Yes, twice! I didn't like the way it looked with my first idea for a retro theme so I took everything off and started over again. My husband thought I was nuts, but I love the way it turned out.

 No presents under it yet. :)

 I really like the aqua and red. I have done a patriotic theme several times in the past so I had a lot of the red ornaments and just had to buy a tub of aqua bulbs at Walmart and some aqua ribbon.

Rather than buying a matching tree topper, 

I just made a big bow for the top.

I'm working on my mantel now. It's getting there, but it is just missing something...hmmm can't quite decide if it's really finished or not. Be looking for the mantel reveal later this week!
